Deep Fried Shrimps and Sour Chilli Sauce (Easiest Recipe EVER!)

Alright, I know you all are busy people and can’t really put in hours trying to prepare a meal.  Even though this is not a complete meal, it works great an appetizer to one or when unexpected guests show up. All you need to do is keep your freezer stocked with frozen shrimps and you’re all set because everything else is already found in every home. The recipe is so simple that anyone, I repeat, anyone can make them.

Here’s what you’ll need. 

250 gms of shrimps, shelled and deveined 
1/4 cup cornflour
1/4 cup flour
1 egg, lightly beaten
salt and red chilli powder to taste
Oil for deep frying

For the Sour Chilli Sauce:

1/2 cup Mayonnaise
2 tbsp lemon juice
a splash of vinegar
1 small green chili, de-seeded and thinly sliced

For the sauce, mix everything together and set aside and heat up your oil for frying.

Now, it is important that your shrimps are properly de-veined and shelled or someone might fall sick. Here’s a video on how to shell and de-vein shrimps. Once clean, season your shrimps with salt and red chili powder to taste. Season the flour as well.

Then, one after another, dip the shrimps first in corn flour, then the beaten egg and finally, into the seasoned flour. Giving them a nice even coating.

Then, deep fry them on high heat till light golden in color. Do not over-do it for they will go hard as rubber. Serve immediately.
