Once upon a time, my brother found this recipe book at a book fair that ought to teach kids simple recipes. We were kids and new to this whole cooking adventure. What was the first thing we made? Mac n’ Cheese. We haven’t stopped since. We now top these with Pepperoni slices and eat right from the bowl till it’s all gone.
Scherry, this one’s for you. Here’s what you’ll need:
Serves 2 (with full tummies)
2 cups macaroni, any shape will do
2 cups milk
2 tbsp flour
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp grated cheddar cheese
10 or more pepperoni slices
2 tbsp butter
salt and pepper to taste
Boil the macaroni till al dente. In a pan, over medium heat, melt butter and toss in the flour. Cook while stirring till flour just starts to change color. Take off heat and pour in milk, little at a time, stirring. Mix till no lumps remain. Return to heat and cook till the sauce is thick. Season with salt and pepper and mix in two tablespoons of cheddar cheese. Throw in the boiled macaroni and mix till well coated. In an oven proof dish, layer out the mac n’ cheese.Give a layer of pepperoni slices till covered.
Cover with grated cheese and bake grill in the oven till golden on top.
Serve with any spicy sauce.
Thank you for reading! Now go fill that tummy up.
