Strawberry and Chocolate Trifle

I started out weeks ago, in search of the perfect strawberry cheese cake recipe. But unfortunately I failed to find the one that Hira and I have been looking for. We want a recipe with the taste of the strawberry cheese cakes at Masoom’s. And since as all my efforts failed, I thought I’d give you guys a healthier but equally indulgent recipe. This one’s for Hira!

When you infuse milk chocolate into the cream, it tastes so different and divine. Here’s what you’ll need.

a loaf of plain cake, cut into 1/2 inch thick slices
1/2 cup milk
2 oz milk chocolate
1 tbsp sugar
1 pack cream
1 cup strawberries, washed and sliced
6 oz of any wafer chocolate (ferrero rocher, kitkat or perk will do), roughly crushed
1 ripe banana, sliced
1/2 an apple, sliced
2 tbsp slivered almonds

In the pack of cream, grate the milk chocolate and mix in the sugar. Whip the cream till its thick in consistency. Refrigerate for an hour.

Soak the cake slices in milk and layer them at the bottom of a serving dish. Top with a layer of sliced apple and banana. Top with a thick layer of chocolate infused cream. Finally, top with the strawberries, wafer chocolate and slivered almonds. Chill for two hours and serve.

The fact that the cake is soaked in milk will keep everything moist. The chocolate in the cream gives it the special flavor. Trust me, people will want to know the secret to this trifle. Shh! Keep the chocolate a secret.

Thank you for reading! Keep an eyes for a few Hunger Games special posts!
